First day – Arrival in Reggio Emilia and accommodation in the hotel. Cooking lesson learning the secrets behind a tasty dish, making homemade traditional dishes like gnocchi. Finally, tasting what has been prepared. Afternoon visit to a well-known producer of local wine, famous for his Lambrusco, understanding the production from fermentation to bottling. Then visit to his wonderful Acetaia, where the Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Reggio Emilia is made since long time. Ending with a tasting session of both products to discover their aromas and tasty flavours. Dinner in Reggio Emilia city centre and overnight stay at the hotel.
Second day – Breakfast at the hotel. Discovering how the famous Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese is produced in a local farm. Lunch at the end of the visit, tasting local culinary specialties. Afternoon at leisure in Reggio Emilia city centre: the Cathedral, the Basilica of San Prospero, the astonishing Valli Municipal Theatre and time to make some shopping and to discover boutiques of local artisans. Special dinner in the restaurant of the most well-known chef of the city. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Third day – Breakfast at the hotel. At your choice, visit at Torrechiara Castle. Guided visit to a producer of the famous Parma Ham, following the ham processing, from the origin to the finished product, ending with a rich tasting session of the famous Parma Ham in its different agings. Afternoon in a local winery specialised in the production of Malvasia on the Parma hills, on the slopes that surround the extraordinary Torrechiara Castle. Delicious tasting at the end of the winery visit. Dinner at leisure and overnight stay at the hotel.
Fourth day – Breakfast at the hotel. Visit at a rural farm on the first hills of Reggio Emilia, where the owners will prepare a special tasting of their jams and preserves using their fruits and vegetables in season. Lunch in a local tavern with typical food of Reggio Emilia. Departure.
